On Tuesday, October 1st, twenty young ladies from our parish's Sisters to Saints group met for their monthly meeting, but at a different location than normal. Instead of meeting at the church, they met downtown at 1212 N. Lasalle Dr. to visit and tour the newly built Women's Care Center - a pregnancy care center located right next door to one of the busiest Planned Parenthoods in the city. The Women's Care Center provides free, confidential counseling, ultrasound testing, as well as support and education for pregnant women.
The girls were welcomed by the Director of the Center, Ms. Sarah Ford (sister of Fr. Nathan Ford, SJC), who gave them a tour of the facility, spoke to them about her important work ministering to women in crisis pregnancies, and then asked them for help in bundling diapers and putting together strollers for mothers in need.
