St. Joseph Day Celebrations

"Saint Joseph was a just man, a tireless worker, the upright guardian of those entrusted to his care. May he always guard, protect and enlighten families." - Saint John Paul II

March 19th is the Solemnity of St. Joseph, spouse of the Blessed Virgin and patron of the universal Church. Please join us on Saturday, March 19 at 8:30 am for a High Mass with Incense at our newly restored St. Joseph’s Altar.

Our beautifully restored altar was dedicated at the closing of the Candlemas Mass on February 2nd. The Canons Regular extend a special invitation to the patrons of the altar to join us at the Feast of St. Joseph Mass this Saturday. The Magnificat Choir will be singing Lodovico Viadana (1560–1627), Missa L’hora Passa, for SATB choir, Gabriel Fauré (1845–1924), Ecce Fidelis Servus, for STB choir and organ and Pawel Bebenek (b. 1972), O Salutaris Hostia, for SATB choir.

La tavola di San Giuseppe! On Sunday, March 20th many parishioners gathered in the parish hall for a grand meal, devotions, desserts, and Italian traditions. We thank the volunteers who organized and cooked the meal in honor of the “Foster-Father of Our Lord.”

As is traditional with the St. Joseph’s Table, donations were collected and given to The Franciscans of the Eucharist of Chicago at the Mission of Our Lady of the Angels in East Humboldt Park, Chicago who were also in attendance.

Buona Festa di San Giuseppe! Happy St. Joseph's Day!
