The Chicago Downtown Chapter of Legatus invites you to Music From the Holy Land: A Musical Pilgrimage Through the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Harpa Dei will be performing at St. John Cantius church on Thursday, November 14th at 6:30pm
This concert will be free for all in attendance. All are welcome!
About Harpa Dei
The Harpa Dei Choir is a Catholic vocal ensemble made up of four siblings, both in blood and in spirit: Nikolai, Lucia, Marie-Elisée and Mirjana Gerstner. Born in Germany, they grew up in Ecuador, South America.
All four have as their spiritual foundation the long formation they have received in a religious community of Catholics.
Since 2011, as part of a peace initiative, the siblings have been called to evangelize through sacred music. In this sense, Harpa Dei tries to collect the most beautiful songs from different traditions to glorify God and to transmit to people the beauty of the Lord that shines so eminently in sacred music.
Since then, their mission has taken them to many countries around the world, including Mexico, Israel, Germany, Russia, Ecuador, the United States and several European countries.
Harpa Dei hopes to contribute to the recovery and creation of sensitivity towards the musical tradition of the universal Church, which, in the words of the Second Vatican Council, “constitutes a treasure of inestimable value, which stands out among other artistic expressions” (Constitution Sacrosanctum Concilium).
