Christmas 2024
Dear Parishioners, Friends, and Families,
"The Christmas mystery has two parts: the first is that the Son of God was born as man; the
second is that it must be born in our hearts."– Fr. Pius Parsch
As we celebrate the Nativity of our Lord, we are reminded of the profound truth of this season:
Christ, born in Bethlehem, desires to dwell in the hearts of each of us. This joyous mystery fills
our lives with hope, light, and the promise of redemption.
This past year has been a remarkable testament to God’s abundant blessings and how He has
been born in the hearts of so many at St. John Cantius Church.
At the time of this writing, we have rejoiced with 80 baptisms, welcoming new souls into the
Church and the life of Christ. We have celebrated the sacred union of 25 couples in Holy
Matrimony, a testament to God’s enduring love. We witnessed the ordinations of one priest and
one deacon to serve the Canons Regular, a sign that our Lord is still calling many to follow him.
Our parish received many graces or spiritual growth through the parish Pilgrimage to Fatima
and the Magnificat Choir’s Pilgrimage to Poland. These journeys drew us closer to Christ and
to one another as a parish family.
Each of these blessings is a testament to your faith, generosity, and dedication. As parishioners
and benefactors, you are the hands and hearts through which the mission of St. John Cantius
Church thrives. Y our prayers, service, and support make it possible for us to continue sharing the
beauty of the liturgy, the richness of tradition, and the light of Christ with all who seek Him.
This Christmas, as we gather to celebrate the birth of our Savior, let us not only marvel at the
child in the manger but also open our hearts to receive Him anew, allowing His peace and love to
transform us.
May the light of Christ shine brightly in your homes this Christmas and throughout the New
Year. You remain in my prayers with deep gratitude.
In Christ’s Love,
Rev. David Yallaly, SJC
